Valentina K. Sensano

Heaven has received the BEAUTIFUL soul of Valentina Kuulani Sensano born on Valentine's Day 1962 in Fresno, California Valentina, my mother, my best friend is the strongest person I will ever know. A fierce, loving mama and grandmama bear to four daughters and nine grandchildren. She left this world after a courageous battle with ALS, surrounded by love ones that will continue her legacy of remaining strong together in our Christian faith. Her battle showed her courage in facing life challenges with never-ending faith of God's trust and in His plan and timing. Valentina's silly sense of humor and love of laughter will also continue to live on through her children and grandchildren. Born and raised in southern California, she loved music and dancing- even won disco dance contests. Some of her favorite moments were spent in the kitchen, creating or helping create delicious meals with her family, while listening to Motown music. Christmas and the holiday season leading up to, was her favorite time of year. Annual local craft shows, Frankenmuth trips, Christmas shopping, making dozens of different Christmas cookies with family, and decorating her home to look like Bronner's every year. She also loved planting flowers and her vegetable garden, feeding and watching hummingbirds, and relaxing yardwork in the Spring and Summer. Another favorite of hers, was watching the leaves change colors in the Fall, along with family bonfires while sipping on piña coladas. Although our matriarch will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her sister, brother, mother, and grandmother, and that we will all be together again- one sweet day. Until we meet again Momma. She is survived by daughters: Stephanie Rowbotham (Amy Ginzel), Christina Schlager (Casey), Nicole Nowicki (Eric), and Catherine Battaglia (Alex Baugh), grandchildren: Isabella, Jillian, Sadie, Ariana, Eva, Nathan, Joshua, Quinn, and Nicholas, nieces: Melissa Ehlers, Jasmine Sensano Paiz, and great niece- Eva Paiz, sister, Melissa Wentworth, former husband, Salvatore Battaglia, best friends: Liza Negrete, Esther Dodero, and Laurie Samuelson and many dear cousins in California, Hawaii, and Colorado. Services are private. Arrangements in care of Jowett Funeral Home - Port Huron.
