Sharon A. VanConant

Sharon Ann VanConant, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024 at the Sanilac Medical Care Facility. She was born October 1, 1944, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Delbert and Helene (Beals) Dunlay. Sharon married Ferris (Casey) K. VanConant on August 31, 1962, and the two recently celebrated their 62nd Anniversary. Sharon was a lifelong resident of Peck and graduated from Peck High School in 1964. For 10 years she and Casey owned and operated the then popular local establishment Casey’s Place. Early on, Sharon worked at Travco Industries of Brown City and as an aide at Peck Elementary. She then worked 25 years at Gemco Corp., in Peck, and retired in 1996. Sharon was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Peck Post #489. Sharon loved socializing, listening to the Oldies, and in her younger years, attending the Peck Legion dances. Her most cherished moments; however, came from visits with her family and she never missed a 4:00 episode of Judge Judy. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Casey; children, Jim (Katie) VanConant, Jeff (Tina) VanConant, Steve VanConant, Sherri (Curt) Milletics; grandchildren, Jamie (Dean) Degraff, Cassy (Kevin) Calahan, Kyle VanConant and fiance Ashlyn Weiss, Aubyrn VanConant, Taylor VanConant, Erin (AJ) Kiley, Ty Metevier, Cody Metevier, Jenna (Brant) Robinson, Ava Kolar, Ryin Milletics and Genevieve Milletics; great-grandchildren, Kembry and Joelle Calahan, Jayla Degraff, Dominic Chrzanowski, Maverick Kiley, and Peyton and Kira Robinson; sister, Debra (Alan) Devitt; and several nieces and nephews. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Delbert and Helene, parents-in-law, Ferris and Ruby VanConant; and brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Carol (VanConant) Krosnicki. A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Peck Harvest - Hall 5335 S. Sandusky Road - Peck. The memorial visitation will begin at 12:00pm, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Sharon may be made to the wishes of the family.
