Mary K. Neil

Mary K. Neil, age 73, of Port Huron, passed away on November 12, 2021.Mary was born October 14, 1948 in Port Huron to the late Daniel and Dorothy (Tuffnell) Wall. Mary spent her entire life in Port Huron and was a graduate of Port Huron Catholic High School. While attending high school, she worked at Vanity Fair in downtown Port Huron, where she met the love of her life and father of her children. She also worked for Michigan Bell, Wonder Bread, The Ohio Company and was an office manager at a medical clinic. Her favorite role was as a stay-at-home mom for many years while her children where young and volunteering at their school. She knew the first and last name of virtually every classmate at her children's elementary school and was a second mother to many. Among those who knew her, she was famous for her pumpkin pies and sugar cookies, which she baked every holiday. She also had a passion for arts & crafts, holiday decorations, flowers and gardening. Early in life she was part of a tight knit group of friends commonly referred to as the Simpson Road Gang, who remained life-long friends. She also enjoyed dancing at The Dome and bowling at Bowl O Drome and Zebra Lounge. Later in life, she spent her winters in Sun City, Arizona with friends and family and riding her golf cart all over town. More than anything she treasured her family and friends and spending time with them. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Vernell Neil and 2 children, Michelle (Joe) Sepsey of Port Huron, Jason (Kim) Neil of Grand Rapids, three grandchildren, Kassandra, Jake and Carter; sister Judy (Gordon) Camano of Sarnia, brother Jim (Rebecca) Wall of Dayton, as well as many special nieces and nephews and life-long friends and neighbors, the entire extended Neil family which she knew and loved from a very early age, and many, many more. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to The Salvation Army or the Arthritis Foundation. A memorial visitation will be Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in the Blue Water Convention Center in the Abby Room, 800 Harker Street, Port Huron.
