Harvey A. Krantz

Harvey Alton Krantz, age 84, of Peck, Michigan, passed away June 12, 2025, following a short illness. He was born on January 7, 1941 in Mt. Clemens to the late George and Thelma (Babbitt) Krantz. He attended St. Louis High School in Mt. Clemens, where he met his high school sweetheart , Mary Deloney. They graduated together on June 12, 1960. After he served three years for the United States Army in Germany. They were married on November 30, 1963, at St. Valerie of Ravenna R. C. Church in Mt. Clemens. He worked for more than forty years at the former Yale Rubber Manufacturing, and he enjoyed time outdoors hunting, fishing and many family camping adventures. Whether he was golfing, bowling, pitching for the softball team or playing on the family Fantasy Football League, he was a worthy opponent, some might say a “fierce warrior”. Harvey found great satisfaction serving his community in many ways. For over forty years, he was a member of the Elk Township Fire Department, as well as Peck American Legion, Post 489, for many years. He worked with Peck Summer Softball League as a coach and organizer. He attended St. John Church in Peck, where he ushered and helped maintain the grounds. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Mary, daughters; Denise (Blair) Babcock and Diane (David Spoelman) Krantz, sons; Douglas (Carrie) Krantz and David (Angie) Krantz and son-in-law, Scott Harrison. He was the proud grandfather of twelve grandchildren; Maddie (Valeria Lozano) Harris, Sawyer Harris, Devin (Melissa) Babcock, Kylie (Adam) Whitfield, Mason (Lyndsey) Babcock, Olivia (Alex Ely) Spoelman, Adam (Emily Harnish) Spoelman, Sapphire Spoelman, Owen Krantz, Logan Krantz, Elijah Krantz and Emily Krantz, eleven great grandchildren; Asher Ely, River Ely, Reagan Babcock, Miles Babcock, Louise Spoelman, Charlotte Whitfield, Ellis Babcock, Josie Spoelman, Ivy Whitfield, Isabelle Babcock, and Judith Babcock, brothers; George (Penny) Krantz, Greg Krantz, sisters; Brenda (Ted) Rabaja, Ruth (Lori Ortiz) Krantz, sisters-in-law; Arlene (John Nader) Deloney, Betty (Terry) Sloan, Janet Deloney, Lori (Norman Raab) Deloney, brother-in-law; Bill (Nancy) Deloney and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by daughter, Debbie, sister, Mary Ann (Fred) Paye, father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Mary Deloney, sister-in-law, Linda Krantz and brother-in-law, Tom Deloney. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 1:00pm in the Harvest Hall in Peck -5335 S. Sandusky Rd. The visitation will be from Noon until time of the service at 1:00pm.
