Hans O. Larsen Jr.

Peacefully surrounded by his family, Hans passed away on April 18th, 2026, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Patricia “Pat”, cherished and much loved father of James (Michele), Eric, and Christine Paige (Scott). Very proud grandfather of Taylor Deland (Bradley), Samantha Paige, and Laney Paige, with his first great grandchild expected this fall. Son of the late Hans and Anna Larsen and son-in-law of the late John and Stephanie Brodowski. Brother of the late Soren Larsen (Peggy), and Ann Brodowski (late Richard “Dick”). Uncle to Rebecca Brodowski, Peter Larsen, Mark Larsen, and Sarah Larsen. Longtime friend to Lou Muller. Hans adored his entire family, especially his wife Pat where he showed his love through steady devotion and care. Hans and Pat would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary later this year. As a proud Veteran of the Air Force, Hans was a man of high integrity. He was genuine, fun loving and had a sense of sarcasm that brought smiles to those around him. He used his acquired skills to further his hobby of working on sporty automobiles. He worked a majority of his career in IT (Information Technology), starting before it was even known as IT. He was always there for others and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Hans was an avid dog lover who owned and cherished several dogs over his lifetime. He enjoyed bowling for decades with Pat in a couples league, creating many lasting friendships along the way. He was also a proud and enthusiastic member of the “Your Mom” trivia team. A devoted supporter of public radio, Hans was a daily listener and monthly donor to WMHT. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruising, taking over 37 cruises over his lifetime with family and close friends. He also cherished his Danish heritage, honoring it through his daily “morgen-bajer”, a simple tradition that brought him joy. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Mercy Village and Hospice for their care, support, and dedication. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hans’ name to Mercy Village of Ft Gratiot, MI, the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (SPCA) or WMHT Public Radio.
