Elizabeth Greenleaf

Elizabeth “Beth” Greenleaf was born in Forest, Ontario on October 19, 1919. She peacefully passed away at McLaren Macomb Hospital, Mt. Clemens, on December 20, 2017. Beth is the daughter of Arthur Gordon Stewart Ross (1965) and Minnie Maud (Gage) Ross (1968). Predeceased by brother Chuck Ross (1968) and sister-in-law Doris (Phillips) Ross (1996). After growing up in Ontario, Beth married Marty Mallette on November 28, 1940 in Dresden, Ontario. She spent many years in Detroit, Michigan and Sun City Center, Florida. Their first son, Gary, was born on July 28, 1942 and her second son, Chuck, was born on September 24, 1952. Beth will be dearly missed by Gary and his wife Lynn and Chuck and his wife Judy, grandchildren Michael (Stephany), Rob (Chris), Jay (Tonille), Allan (April), great-grandchildren Rebekah (Jacob), Trevor (Rachel), Melissa (Jackson), Sarah, Amy, Kimmy, Katie, Korbin, Lucas, great-great grandchildren Zora and Lily. Also sadly missed by Jane, Ann and their families and predeceased by Judy’s son Adam. Beth loved her family dearly and we are all profoundly sad as we will miss her sweet smile and kind words. Beth will be in the hearts of niece Karen Ross, her daughter Lisa, nephew Phil (Jeanine) Ross, daughter Cassandra. Beth will be also be missed by Norma Gage (Jack), LeeAnn (Pierre), Nancy (Clive) and their children, Jean Fish (Clifford) and her family. Beth is predeceased by many other relatives, cousins, and friends with whom she shared a long life. She will be missed by her friends at Lakeshore Presbyterian Church and Lake Huron Woods in Fort Gratiot, Michigan where she spent her last years. Beth is remembered by all as a woman of faith, dignity and grace. She spoke ill of no person and the latch string of her door was open to all. She was kind, loving, and welcoming, leading life as an example to many. Beth is now home, safe in the arms of her Lord and Saviour, in harmony with the many who passed on before her. She will be missed so much by those of us left. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you remember Beth in your actions through an act of kindness to another in whose life you can make a difference. A service will be held at Lakeshore Presbyterian Church, 5235 Lakeshore Drive, Fort Gratiot, Michigan on December 27 at 11:00 AM.
