Stephen R. Clingenpeel June 2, 1965 – May 20, 2022 It is with deeply saddened hearts the family of Stephen Rudolph Clingenpeel announce his passing on May 20, 2022, with his wife by his side, at the age of 56. Steve is survived by his wife, Sherry, his girls, Kimberly (Sadeq) Shammakh, Stephanie Jallow and Samantha (Duane) Dalbec; grandchildren, Suhail, Stephen, Amira, Rashid, Brayden, Bayleigh and Brooklyn; siblings, Kim (Umberto) Baldassarre, Kathy (Mike) Clark, Tom (Diane) Clingenpeel, Karole (Mike) Zeller, Mike (Shawn) Clingenpeel and Karyn Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Leona Clingenpeel, brother, Ralphie and grandparents, Carl and Grace Johnson. Steve will be greatly missed by many family, friends, neighbors and best friends, Allan Loxton and Ron Jonseck. Steve wore many hats, literally and physically. He loved his family, was a loyal friend and always had a kind word for a stranger (inherited from Grandpa Johnson) Steve possessed knowledge that would amaze you! He was so proud of the house he built for his family. A big strong guy that loved his little dogs. He tackled everything at 110%. A master at operating heavy equipment, welder, mechanic, eBay aficionado, an all-around “jack of all trades.” Steve was a proud member of the St. Clair County Sheriff Department Marine Rescue from 1987-1996 and Operators Union Local 324. Surely, he had stock in Tim Horton’s, calling employees by name. He kept everyone guessing what he would be driving next, he changed vehicles like most people change shoes. He enjoyed his toys – trucks, tractors, his mule, anything with wheels. Steve could tell a story like no other, known for lightening the mood with his witty remarks – who hadn’t heard his catch phrase “whatever”? This kind human will be greatly missed. A special thanks to the team of physicians, nurses and dialysis team for the care given to Steve. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Pollina Avenue Holiness Church, 3618 Pollina Avenue, Fort Gratiot, Michigan. Arrangements in care of, Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron. To view the obituary and share memories, please visit www.jowettfuneraldirectors.com
