Robert G. "Bob" Gurnsey

April 29, 1934 - June 5, 2022

Robert Gordon “Bob” Gurnsey, age 88, entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 5, 2022. His spirit is carried on by his wife, Bobbie Gurnsey of 60 years, his three children, Jeannine (Daniel) Potts, Gordon (Deborah) Gurnsey, and Shelley (Edward) Senyk, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his sons, Russell Gurnsey and Daniel Gurnsey. Mr. Gurnsey served honorably in the United States Army in the 11th Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He did both a tour in Germany and in Alaska. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Bob during his 88 years, among them: how to cook wild game like turtle soup and opossum pie, how to make wine out of dandelions, the difference between poison mushrooms and ones you can eat, how to dehydrate anything and add it to oatmeal, how to befriend a stranger, be kind to a friend, and be the most honest, hardworking, kind and genuine individual a person could know. Bob will always be remembered for his love of family, friends, campfire songs, dancing and wine. He will be forever remembered in our hearts. A celebration will be held later this summer.
