Muriel E. Moore Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Muriel E. Moore, age 91, of Clinton Twp., passed away on July 6, 2022. She was born on March 13, 1931, in Detroit. She married Bill "Chuck" Moore, he preceded her in death on May 19, 2022. Like her husband of 73 years, Muriel mirrored Bill’s faith and strength of character. Born during the depths of the Great Depression, she decided early in life to face challenges head-on and never give up. As the oldest of four, she supported the family in any way necessary, always revered by her three brothers as the "big sister". She was rewarded not many years later when Bill Moore walked into her soda shop, was introduced, and the rest would become her legacy. Even though she and Bill both worked full-time, there was never any detail left to chance be it her children, her home, her friends, and of course her church. The significant portion of her career was spent as an office manager in the industrial tool business and nearly all of that time for one particular person, Mr. Albert Ferkany, who - along with his wife Millie - became lifelong friends. Even while she worked, she found time to serve in her church and when she retired, it gave her even more time to do so. Managing the church bookstore, serving meals for the Kiwanis Club, sewing pillow dresses for the children of Malawi, making quilts for missions, the list goes on! She even found time to volunteer as an usher at the Fox Theatre with her best friend, Marcia Bird. She felt strongly that everyone needs to be recognized and was flawless to deliver her "Hallmark" greetings at birthday and anniversary times with a card to mark the event. Even with all the generosity she showed, it could be said that she was relentless in her pursuit of the $5 refund from any retailer that was found to have overcharged due to a scanning error. She may in fact hold the world's record! Muriel is survived by her son, Timothy (Martina) Moore and Colleen (Robert) Stepien, four grandchildren; Shaun, Kate, Tony and Alex, two great grandchildren; Chihiro and Aiko, and a brother, James (Pat) Everett. Muriel was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Everett and two brothers; William Everett and Henry Everett. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 11:00am in the Trinity Lutheran Church - 38900 Harper Ave., Clinton Twp., Michigan 48036. Visiting will be from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. A luncheon will immediately follow the service in the church community center. Memorial contributions may be made to: Hardt-Rathe Scholarship Fund of Trinity Lutheran School of Clinton Township. Arrangements in care of Jowett Funeral Home - New Haven.
