February 5, 1945 - May 13, 2022

May A. Willis, age 77, of Fort Gratiot Township, passed away on May 13, 2022 . She was born on February 5, 1945 in Port Huron. She married Curtis A. Willis on August 10, 1963 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1999. If there was ever an angel that walked among us, it was May. She adored children. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the focus of her life. May worked for a number of years as a Unit Secretary in the Rehab Unit at Mercy Hospital. Her empathy, understanding, and smile brightened the day of many people who passed through her unit, their family members, and everyone else who met her. May is survived by her children, Ken (Amy) Willis, Joe Willis, Steve Willis, Timothy Willis and Tammie Willis; her grandchildren; Chris and Lauren Willis, Nicole (David) Emshwiller, Jolene Willis, Jessica Willis, Helen Willis, Timothy Willis, Debbra Willis, Abeba Willis, Todd Willis, and Taik Willis; 12 great grandchildren; her sister, Linda (Gary) Corwin; her sisters-in-law; Nancy Krauss, Janet Krauss, Marilyn Willis, and Ellen (Gary) Smith; her brother-in-law, Jim Churcher along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Willis; daughter, Debbie Willis, and her parents George and Lorene Krauss; her brothers; David (Mary) Krauss, Norman Krauss, Harold Krauss, and Floyd Krauss; sisters; Barbara Churcher and Marie Krauss; father-in-law, Clifford Willis; mother-in-law, Rosella Willis; sisters-in-law; Patricia (Bo) Brown, Betty (Tom) Warshefski, and Margie (George) Moore; brothers-in-law; Alvin Willis and Clifford Willis Jr.; and a great grandson, Jylace Steemburg. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:00am in Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron. Minister Shaun Laurain will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 19 from 4:00pm-8:00pm and Friday, from 10:00am - 11:00am. Pallbearers are Ken Willis, Joe Willis, Steven Willis, Tim Willis, Timothy Willis and Chris Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Willis and Taik Willis. Memorial tributes can be made to of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital .
