Gerald "Jack" Krenke

September 26, 1928 - January 31, 2022

Gerald “Jack” Emil Krenke, of Ruby, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home, on January 31, 2022. He was born on September 26, 1928 in Port Huron to the late Harry and Cecelia Krenke. He married the love of his life, Helen H. LaFave, on August 6, 1949, in Port Huron. They had met at Port Huron Hospital, when Jack was recuperating after a rail yard accident, where he had part of his foot amputated. She preceded him in death, August of 1981. He raised and broke horses as a young man in the city of Port Huron. Jack was very active in the Port Huron Golden Gloves in his early years and did quite well. He was invited and played on the Chrysler Marysville Traveling Baseball Team in the 1940’s. Jack resided in Ruby, Michigan for over 70 years. He was very active in many community organizations; Loyal Order of Moose, Sons of American Legion and Smith’s Creek Masonic Lodge 491 member for over 50 years, where he served as the Master, Commander’s Club, Grotto, Shrine, High Twelve, Royal Arch and O.E.S. Jack memorized all of the masonic ritual parts and traveled all over southeast Michigan and Ontario to perform the rituals at Masonic ceremonies for many years. Jack started his career at the Grand Trunk Rail Yard, where he worked switching cars. He went on to Mueller Brass as a machine operator and spent several years as an over the road semi driver for Champion Homes. He was promoted to corporate transportation manager of Champion Homes in Dryden. Jack started up his own business as Marysville – Mart, where he sold motor homes and travel trailers and repaired them. He is survived by his children; Jennifer Lynn (Ted) Ward, Gerald Jack (Debra) Krenke II, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, step-brother, Joseph (Dorothy) Anter, along with several nieces and nephews. Jack will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his children; Cynthia Anne Krenke, Nanette R. Krenke, Michael J. Krenke and Mitchell J. Krenke, along with his siblings; Robert H. Krenke, Harry D. Krenke and Donna R. Cummings. A Masonic funeral service will be held 12:00pm on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Ruby Community Church – 6650 Abbottsford Rd, Ruby. Visitation will begin at 10:00am until time of service. Burial will be at Ruby Cemetery, followed by a Christian service by Reverend Kathy Mason. Funeral luncheon following graveside ceremony at Ruby Lions Hall. Pallbearers; Kyle Jack Ward, Zander Morgan, Trace Ribble, Ben Krenke, Mike Kinney and Charles Taylor.
