Dock Walker Jr.

December 1, 1932 - October 7, 2021

Dock Walker Jr., 88 of Port Huron, died Thursday, October 7, 2021. He was born December 1, 1932, in Faunsdale, Alabama to the late Dock Sr. and Dollada Walker. He attended Perry County Training School. Dock accepted Christ at an early age, he was a spiritual man and a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. Dock was the church treasurer while involved in many auxiliaries, the Deacon Board, Trustee Board, Brotherhood and Men’s Choir. He was an active member of the Central Star Lodge #23 and served as the past master and current treasurer along with the NAACP Treasurer and Port Huron Scholarship Assistance Program Treasurer. Dock served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed service work and put his all into each assignment. He loved spending time with family and friends and making everyone laugh. Dock is survived by his loving and devoted sister, Mary A. Walker of Port Huron, brother, Clarence Walker of Port Huron, half-sister, Louise Dotson of Alabama, devoted nephews, Johnny Walker Sr., Charles Walker and Keith Walker of Port Huron, Carl and Bobbie Jones Jr. of Port Huron, Joseph Walker Jr. of Clinton Township, James Walker, John Walker and Clifton Royal of Alabama and Kenneth Walker of Arizona, devoted nieces, Fayetta Royal, Rosetta Royal and Shirley Royal of Alabama, Sandra Jones of Illinois, Gwendolyn Walker of Lansing and Marilyn Walker of Port Huron, brothers-in-law, Pat Royal and Daniel Royal of Alabama and Bobbie Jones Sr. of Port Huron, special cousins, Gertrude Davis and Rebecca Torres of Connecticut, Ada Strothers of South Carolina, Leon Cade of Ohio and Monica Briggins-Klopz of Detroit, goddaughter, Barrie Williams of Detroit along with special friends, Barbara Lee of Port Huron, Cheryl Ann Jones of Philadelphia and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dock Sr. and Dollada Walker, sisters, Margaret Walker, Elenora Jones, Willie Dell Royal and Julia Royal, brothers, Johnny Walker and Joseph Walker Sr., nephews, Robert Walker Sr., Jesse Walker Sr., Terrence Walker, Derrick Walker and niece, Viola Ward. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, October 15, 2021, at Restoration Christian Community Church, 3201 Gratiot Avenue, Port Huron. Elder David Nichols will officiate. Burial to take place in Woodland Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron. With a Masonic Service starting at 7:00pm. There will also be an hour of visitation prior to services on Friday at the church. The St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at the cemetery along with the United States Army.
