Barbara A. Nichols Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Ann Nichols (née Green) of Port Huron, was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She left this world on January 30, 2021 at age 77. She was born to Durwood Harris and Ethel Helen Green on June 28, 1943 in New Haven, MI. After graduating from Port Huron High School in 1962. She worked for many years as a Transportation Logistics Manager. Later in life Barbara received her Associates degree in Business Administration from Lansing Community College. Barbara is survived by her children, Colleen Sharpe of Lago Vista, TX; Joseph Sharpe, Jr., (Flip) of St. Clair, MI; Russell Sharpe (Jennifer) of Marysville, MI; Timothy Sharpe, Sr. (Kim) of Rudyard, MI; and Melanie Sharpe (Scott Atkins) of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren: Joel Sharpe, Jill Sharpe, Andrea Welker, Lynnette Cavis, Timothy Sharpe, Jr., David Bunting, Macy Willacker, Samantha Bunting, Brianna Thompson, Robert Harris, IV, Brenna Besko, Alyssa Sharpe, Riley Besko, Tyler Sharpe, Conner Atwood, Brodie Adams, Jaxon Adams, as well as six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her long-time friend Charmaine (Charlie) Engel, as well as many extended family members and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Neil and Clyde Green, and her sister Maxine Deaton. Barbara was very active in her children’s lives as they were growing. She enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was very passionate about doing genealogy research. Barbara loved sitting by the St. Clair River watching the freighters. She loved her beloved dog Thumper. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 11:00 am until the private family service at 1:00 pm at Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron. Burial will take place in Mead Cemetery, Macomb Township. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Epilepsy Society.
