Violet Grace (Humble) Wynkoop

Violet Grace (Humble) Wynkoop, age 93, of Port Huron Township, was reunited with her loving husband of 69 years, Clem Wynkoop, on May 7, 2021. She was born on December 14, 1927 in Almont Township to the late Albert and Grace Humble. Violet married Clement V. Wynkoop on September 18, 1945 in Bemidji, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2015. Violet was an amazing woman that was loved by all who knew her. She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing and crocheting baby afghans and hats for newborns and donated them to the local hospital for new families to enjoy. She will be deeply missed by all and her legacy will live on through her remaining family members. She is survived by daughter Connie Yeo, and Linda and Dan Matthews Sr. Her grandchildren: DeAnne (John) Alley, Christopher DeLacy, Stacy Armstrong, Kenneth (Grace) Armstrong, Angela (John Whitehurst) Matthews, April (Rob) May, Daniel (Michelle) Matthews Jr. Her great grandkids: Chrissy (Roger) Blake, Erin (Justin) Hagevold, Noah Jones, Luke DeLacy, Tylor Scott, Kyle Scott, Sienna Armstrong, Hunter Armstrong, Hunter May, Brian May Isabella Matthews, and Daniel Matthews III. Her great-great-Grandchild, Cooper Blake. Her brothers: Howard (Kathy) Humble, and Ralph Humble and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Armstrong, parents, Albert and Grace Humble, sister, Pat and brothers Albert, George, Roy, James, Robert, Tom, and Calvin. Funeral services will be 12:00pm Saturday, May 15, 2021 in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron. Pastor Tim Clark of Ross Bible Church will officiate. Burial to take place in Woodland Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday, May 14, 2021 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday, 11:00am until the time of services at 12:00pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Deanne Alley, Angela Matthews, April May, Daniel Matthews, Rob May and John Whitehurst. Memorial tributes may be made to the Hunter Hospitality House.
