Norman J. Bell

Norman Joseph Bell, age 71, of Chesterfield, passed away on January 28, 2025. Born and raised in Michigan, Norm spent some time in Minnesota before returning to his home state of Michigan. He was a proud graduate of Lakeshore High School, and his strong work ethic led him to a career in the automotive industry, culminating in his final role as a stock associate with Walmart before retiring in late 2024. Norm was a passionate sports fan, especially devoted to the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Redwings. He loved gardening, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors, particularly in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, a place he visited annually. His love for nature extended to photography, with a particular fondness for landscape pictures. A classic rock enthusiast, he enjoyed the music of The Allman Brothers and The Rolling Stones. Known for his sharp sense of humor, Norm had a lifelong appreciation for The Three Stooges. He found joy in socializing with friends and family, playing hearts and cribbage with his father and brother. A true animal lover, he had a soft spot for all creatures and was deeply heartbroken by the loss of his beloved companion, Max, in September 2024. He is lovingly remembered by his significant other of 25 years, Nicolene Buzynski, daughter, Shane Buzynski, father, Earl Bell, brother, Chris (Casandra) Bell, stepdaughter, Krysta (Brian) Lawfield, and his cherished grandson, Julius Lawfield, he was also a beloved brother-in-law to David Koester and a devoted uncle to Ryan Bell, Rylee Bell, Braydon Wanniger, Jason Stevens, and Melissa Stevens. Norman was preceded in death by his mother, Madonna Regina Antonelli (Bell); his sister, Terry Lynn Koester (Bell); and his father-in-law, Robert Buzynski. Norm’s warm presence, laughter, and love will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. A celebration of Norm’s life will be held February 8, 12pm - 3:00 pm in the Jowett Funeral Home - 57737 Gratiot , New Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in his honor.
