Mary M. Kallio

Mary M. Kallio, age 82, of Port Huron, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 14, 2017, in the Blue Water Hospice Home, with her family by her side. She was born on October 17, 1934, in Port Huron, to the late Frank and Eva Davenport. Mary was a secretary with the Port Huron Area School District for 35 years where she so enjoyed sharing her kindness and caring for all children. Since 1965 Mary was active with the Port Huron Figure Skating Club serving as secretary during the 1960’s and again later volunteering in the 1990’s for many years. Her God given gift of music brought her joy through her playing the organ and being a professional singer. Traveling with her sisters and brothers-in-law filled her life with adventure and so much laughter. The most precious memories of her life were spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren where she kept them filled with her love, laughter and the precious love of Jesus Christ. Mary’s children wish to expend their gratefulness to Barss Residential and Blue Water Hospice Home for the loving and tender care of their mother. A special heartfelt thanks also to their Aunt, Marge and Uncle, Darwin for their unending love, patience and guidance. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Dr. David) Bolla of Port Huron, son, Mark (Sandra) Jacobson of Port Huron, 6 grandchildren; Courtney (Jeremy) Lewandowski, Alexandra (Fiancé, Jordan Skoglund) Fullgrapp, Brittany Fullgrapp, Chelsea Fullgrapp, Rachel Jacobson and Nicholas (Fiancé, Brianna Ainsworth) Jacobson, 2 great grandchildren; Luke Lewandowski and Brody Jacobson, sisters; Ida Bailey, Marge (Darwin) McLeod, brother, Frank Davenport, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters; Betty Davenport and Patricia Scheffler, niece, Cheryl Harris, nephew, Garry Bailey, sister-in-law, Mary Davenport and brother-in-law, Robert Bailey. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00am in the Griswold Street Baptist Church – 1232 Griswold Street. Dr. Timothy North will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm in the Jowett Funeral Home – 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron, and Tuesday, from 10:00am until time of service in the church. Pallbearers will be: Nicholas Jacobson, Jeremy Lewandowski, Charles McLeod, Jordan Skoglund, James Bailey and Timothy Davenport.
