Lucille M Schrader

Lucille M. Schrader, age 91 of Port Huron, passed away on May 9, 2024, following a brief illness. She was born on April 8, 1933 in Saginaw, to the late Louis and Helen Miller. She married Clifford Schrader Sr. on September 23, 1950 in Port Huron. Lucille worked as a manager of payroll and billing at the Visiting Nurses Association, for 25 years, before retiring. Lucille had been an active member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, where she worked with her siblings to develop a puppet ministry. She also taught Sunday School and sang in the senior choir, for years. She was most passionate about her family, raising her seven children, as a single mother following the early loss of her husband. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She spent her entire life weaving the family and keeping connected to her extended family. Lucille is survived by her children; Clifford Schrader, William (Theresa) Schrader, Richard Schrader, Timothy (Karen) Schrader, Cheryl Schrader, and Kimberly (Cary) Bowman, grandchildren; Jordan (Jenny) Schrader, Clifford Schrader, Carter Schrader, Alanna Schrader, Zachery Prax, Annemarie (Evan) Cornelissen, Melanie Schrader, Elizabeth Brown and Cooper Bowman, great grandchildren; David, Ashley, William, Josephine, Lily, Willow, Ford and Miller, and her sister, Sybil Eagle and sister-in-law, Maggie Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Schrader Sr., son, Steven Schrader, and a beloved grandson, as well as her siblings; William Miller, Raymond (Marge) Miller, Norman (Peggy) Miller, Louis Miller, Helen (Bob) Barton, Evelyn (Paul) Purdy, Mayme Gurnsey, Mildred (Lloyd) Marek, Dorothy (Bob) Carey and brothers-in-law; Donald Eagle, Peter Schrader and Pauline (Larry) Hodgins and Margaret Pettee. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 2:00pm in the Jowett Funeral Home - 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron. Minister Shaun Laurain will officiate. The memorial visitation will be from 12:00pm (noon) until the time of service at 2:00pm.
