Lisa M. Johnson

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Lisa Marie Johnson (McGuire), who went to heaven on January 19, 2025, at the age of 58. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother (Mimi), Sister, Aunt and Friend. Lisa was a cherished member of the Port Huron community, where she lived, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength and resilience. She had an electric personality and the most infectious laugh that would make everyone smile. Lisa loved spending time with friends and family. She thrived in her role as grandmother. She also enjoyed reality tv and was known to be a Survivor superfan (allegedly watched all 80 seasons). Lisa was born on December 11, 1966, in Port Huron, Michigan. She graduated from Carman High School in 1986, and went on to experience many of life’s adventures, including becoming a mother. Being a mother was one of Lisa’s proudest accomplishments. In the early 2000s she married Paul Johnson, and their time spent together was full of love and happiness. Lisa has devoted the last 13 years of her life helping others by working at Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center. The family has already received an outpouring of stories about just how much Lisa meant to so many people. She was a mother figure, a mentor and genuinely enjoyed changing people’s lives for the better. Lisa was someone that everyone wanted to be friends with, she had such a positive outlook on life. Her presence and spirit will be in all our hearts forever. Lisa is survived by her children, Gregory (Brittany) Alstrom and Robert (Gabrielle) Barrett, stepchildren; Adam Johnson, Emily Johnson and Katie Johnson, her grandchildren; Gregory, Joelle and Lincoln, her brother, Michael (Dawn) Carwile, and many nieces and nephews that she loved and cherished. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Johnson, mother, Marilyn LaGrange, grandmother, Hazel Spangenburg, and brother, Richard McGuire. To commemorate her remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held at the Ross Bible Church – 2865 Maywood Dr., Port Huron on February 3, 2025 at 11:00am. Pastor Tim Clark will officiate. The memorial visitation will begin at 10:00am. Jowett Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Johnson Family.
