Kathleen A. Micheli

Kathleen “Kathy” Anne Micheli (nee Hommel) 71 of Saint Clair County Michigan passed away April 28, 2025 in Greenwood, Michigan at the family farm. She was born December 24,, 1953 in Ashtabula, Ohio to Virginia June Hommel. One of six children. She is survived by her three loving sisters; Chris (Pat) Bethke, Bunny Prok, and Penny (Pete) McDonough and a brother, David (Mary) Hommel. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Harold “Butch” Hommel. Kathy raised six children of her own, David Micheli, Cindy Ridky, Charleen Micheli, Crystal Reid, Dennis Micheli, and Jeff Micheli. Kathy was blessed with eleven grandchildren so far. Sarah, Rachel, Erin, Jared, Spencer, Kayle, Alec, Jennifer, Audrey, Christina, and Ruby Kathy’s children and grandchildren have been her whole life as she offered never-ending support, comfort, and loyalty. Whether teaching her granddaughter to drive or running back and forth babysitting for her many grandchildren Kathy never sat still for long. Attending cheerleading events, going to water parks she never said no to spending quality time. Kathy had the rare ability to see the best in everyone and dole out unconditional love to all. A true friend many relied on her in their time of need to give shelter to their children or help with an emergency knowing she wouldn’t turn them away even if they just needed to talk. She had an adventurous spirit going on cruises to Mexico and Florida with friends, as well as traveling the states with her kids. In her youth she lived in many places such as Miami, Dallas, and Los Angeles with her late husband of twenty years. Kathy had many hilarious stories about our fathers' hijinks. She adored her mother and siblings and even though many miles separated them they stayed in touch with frequent phone calls and surprise presents in the mail. Kathy never told anyone they couldn’t do something she chose to encourage instead of being a cheerleader in their corner. She has battled her way through many illnesses and her faith in God has sustained her through it all. Even at the end seeing the curtains closing she had an obvious peace and serenity welcoming the next adventure and her new body in Christ free from the physical limitations of this earthly one. We give thanks to God for Kathy and her loving spirit she will be remembered and missed until we all meet again in Heaven. Services will be private.
