Jeffrey J. Fogal

Jeffrey James Fogal, age 41, of Chesterfield Township, formerly of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2024, at home with his family by his side. He was born on October 17, 1982, in Port Huron to James and Dana Fogal. He married Ashley L. Jarrett on November 12, 2011, in Port Huron. They fulfilled one of Jeff's bucket list items by honeymooning in Australia. Jeff graduated from Port Huron High School in 2001, and earned a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from Eastern Michigan University in 2005. He was employed at GKN Automotive as an engineer. Jeff refused to let his many health obstacles slow him down. He enjoyed playing hockey from the time he first put on his skates at age 3 through adulthood. It led to him coaching his kids as they began their hockey careers. He also played softball and wallyball. Another one of Jeff's favorite things to do was travel. He organized many vacations for his family such as a recent trip to Canada that included a stop at the Hockey Hall of Fame. He enjoyed visiting different zoos around the country as well as craft breweries. An avid Red Wings fan, Jeff enjoyed numerous games at both Joe Louis and Little Caesars Arenas. Jeff was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and nephew. He is survived by his wife, Ashley; children, Sydney and Jacob; parents James and Dana Fogal; siblings Janet (Matthew) Gangwer, and Matthew (Sarah) Fogal; niece and nephews Caleb Gangwer, Joshua Gangwer, Ellie Fogal, Bennett Fogal, and Garrick Hill; father-in-law and mother-in-law Doug and Cathy Jarrett; sister-in-law Cortney (Christian) Hill, and his aunts Linda Cheney and Dawn (Dan) Tilman. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Benjamin and Donna Fogal, O. Dean and Marion Streeter; and his beloved dog, “Gambit”. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 11:00am in the Jowett Funeral Home located at 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron. Pastor William Wright will officiate. The burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, and again on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to wishes of the family (in support of Sydney and Jacob) or the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
