Gordon L. Durecka

Gordon Leroy Durecka, age 85, of Croswell, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. He was born May 20, 1938 in Detroit to late Harry and Anna Mae Durecka. He married the love of his life, Brenda L. Grabbitt on August 10, 1963. Gordon was a truck driver for 30 plus years. He then was a painter until he retired at 65. It didn’t take long for him to realize retired life wasn’t for him, so he went to work for the Sugar Factory where he officially retired from in his late 70’s. Gordon was a jack of all trades; he could fix anything he put his hands on. He loved his pal Meda, Mopar dodge trucks, camping and spending his time at Shoreline Lake, but his most favorite thing was spending time with his family. If it involved his kids and his grandkids, you could bet that he was always there. Gordon is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Brenda. His four children: Howard (Kathie) Durecka, Debbie Durecka, Jean (Rusty) Kelly, Jackie (Randy) Cobb. His seven grandchildren: Chad (Breanna) Jones, Nicole (Bryan) Jones, Amanda (Karl) Burgess, Terry (Ashley) Durecka, Hunter Durecka, Bre Kelly and Dane Rieves. His eleven great grandchildren Brayden, Jase, Austin, Hadley, Tate, Travis, Alena, Lydia, Xander, Kimmie, and Olivia. His two bonus grandchildren: Amanda (David) Hailperin, William (Alyssa) Brooks and five bonus great grandchildren: Noah, Dylan, Maverick, Carter and Easton. His brother: Warren (Debbie) Durecka. His three sisters: Kathy Galbraith, Tammy Durecka, Laurie Durecka. His brother-in-law: Carl Kandler, and two sister-in-laws: Wilma Durecka and Nancy Durecka and many wonderful nieces and nephews that he had very special bonds with. Gordon is preceded in death by his three brothers: Duane Durecka, Orville Durecka, and Harry Durecka. His two sisters: Linda Detary and Juanita Kandler. His two brother-in-laws: Jerry Detary and Gary (Dobe) Galbraith and sister-in-law: Sylvia Durecka. His grandson: Jeromy Kelly and great grandson: Braidon Kelly.
