Diana L. Arnold

Diana Lynn Arnold passed away peacefully on August 2nd, 2021 with her family at her bedside; she was 65. Di never lost her battle to cancer because she didn’t stop fighting. No matter how difficult it was, she remained determined and never let her illness define her. Di’s greatest love was her family. She proudly spoke of her husband, David; her son, Michael; her daughter, Lisa; and her “added kids” Amanda and “Kolman” whom she loved and cherished as her own from the day they entered her life. Her most favorite role in life was “Nana” to Connor and Andrew. Lest we forget to mention her dog, Ruby, whom she referred to as her “Office Assistant” during her time working from home. Diana worked at Woodland Developmental Center for the past 22 years as the administrative assistant to the principal. Prior to that, she was employed at Port Huron Hospital. When she wasn’t working, Di loved spending time with her family and friends at their cabin in Lupton in Northern Michigan. She was always happy to share and welcomed anyone that was able to join in the fun. One of her favorite cabin activities was enjoying a fresh Corona with lime as she cruised the lake on her pontoon boat with her captain, Dave. More-so, however, she got the most joy from watching her grandsons swim, fish, and enjoy life. Diana had a lucky hand and could spend hours playing the slot machine at the casino, but nothing was bigger than the love she had for her friends and family. Di was a friend to all, as anyone who crossed her path could attest. Although Diana has physically left this Earth, her memories remain within the hearts of her family and friends. If we could all take a page out of her book, it would be to live life to the fullest and enjoy those around you. Diana is survived by her husband, David; her children, Michael (Amanda) and Lisa (Michael) Kolman; her two grandsons, Connor and Andrew Kolman; her sister, Shirley (Ken) Mapley; and countless extended family members and great friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Ruth Hyde and a beloved sister, Carol Strickland. Cremation has taken place as per Diana’s wishes. A private family service will be held graveside.
