Charles E. "Chuck" Kelly

Charles (Chuck) Edward Kelly, age 59 of Port Huron Township, a man celebrated for his loving nature, generous spirit, and exceptional sense of humor, passed away February 22, 2025 at Lakeshore Woods assisted living. Chuck’s time on earth was defined by love, laughter, and commitment. He married the love of his life Valerie (Franzel) Kelly on September 23, 1995, in his hometown of Port Huron, where they built a beautiful life and family. Chuck’s family was the deepest source of pride and joy in his life. He was preceded in death by his mother and father , Charlotte and Neil Kelly. Is survived by his beloved wife Valerie Kelly, children Charles Joshua Kelly, Logan Kelly, Sierra Kelly, sister Jan Reed and two grandchildren. Chuck fought hard in the battle with cancer in order to spend more time with his family. Chuck enjoyed music, riding motorcycles, boating, cars, and working out. Chuck’s professional career was defined by dedication, hard work, and loyalty. He dedicated 30 years to Consumers Energy and retired in 2020. He was more than just a valued employee; he was a cherished friend. His colleagues will remember him for bringing leadership, support, and camaraderie to the workplace. Chuck had a natural talent for mechanics and was a handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors in need. He also enjoyed watching sports, particularly hockey, which brought him immense joy. Above all, Chuck cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, whether sharing his knowledge or simply being a present, stable, and loving figure in their lives. Those who knew Chuck will remember him as a pillar of strength, support, and decency. His ability to make others laugh, even in the most challenging times, was a gift that he shared freely. From small acts of kindness to grand gestures, Chuck’s care for others was evident in all he did. The world was a better place because of Charles Edward Kelly, and we are immensely grateful to have shared it with him. Chuck will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all to be the best versions of ourselves. We love you, Chuck; rest peacefully, and know that you will forever be a guiding light in our lives. Until we meet again. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday - February 28, 2025 at 4:00pm in the Jowett Funeral Home - 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron. Minister Shaun Laurain will officiate. The visiting hours will be from 2:00pm until time of service at 4:00pm. A luncheon will follow the service at Edward J. Painting - 1190 Wadhams Rd, Smiths Creek. In honor of Chuck’s love for animals, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Blue Water Area Humane Society. Jowett Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Kelly Family.
