Carl H. Ayles

Carl H. “Chuck” Ayles, age, 74, of Smiths Creek entered God’s kingdom on September 16th, 2022, with his children by his side. He was born on March 30th, 1948 to the late Carl and Anna Wisniewski, in Detroit. Chuck grew up in Warren and graduated from Lincoln high school in 1966. After graduation, he enlisted and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. His time in the service gave him the opportunity to travel the world and see all it had to offer, be it good or bad. These experiences on his travels shaped his strong character and profound morals. On July, 23rd, 1973, Chuck was blessed to marry his one true love, Susan Bennett. They were together for 45 happy years of wedded bliss, growing together and creating a beautiful family. Later, he discovered a passion for tool and die trade, working hard to hone his skills. He earned a career in the Chrysler company, where he worked for over 25 years until his retirement. After he retired, Chuck had more time to enjoy his family and the outdoors. He found great joy in hunting and fishing, enjoyed raising beagles and the comradery he found at the beagles club. Chuck found beauty and joy in all living things, especially his honey bees and the birds he would feed. He was also a dedicated Michigan sports fan, especially loved the Detroit Red Wings. What he enjoyed most in his life was good times spent with family and conversations on the phone with friends. Chuck is survived by his beloved children, Anita (Kingston) Stark, Christina Ayles and Andrew (Tiffany) Ayles, his three treasured grandchildren, Zoe, Abigail and Anthony, his sisters and sister-in-law, and his dogs Buddy and Bear. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Ayles, his brother, Michael Ayles and his parents, Carl and Anna Wisniewski. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Sunday, September 25th, 2022 at the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron. Minister Shaun Laurain will officiate. Burial will be in the Caswell Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 11:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday. There will be a luncheon at the Smiths Creek American Legion hall on 7150 Smiths Creek Rd, Smiths Creek, MI 48074, following the funeral services. Pallbearers will be Andy Ayles, Kingston Stark, Troy Eagle, Don Shnider, Brian Wright and Dave Morningstar. Memorial tributes can be made to the wishes of the family. The St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors, along with the United States Marine Corps.
