Bradley D. Withey

Bradley Douglas Withey, 38, passed away on December 27th, 2024, after a long 3 year battle with cancer. He was born on Mother's Day, May 11th 1986, in Port Huron, MI, and attended Peck schools for most of his life. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served as a Ceremonial Guard in the Presidential Honor Guard in Washington DC. He later played semi-pro football for the Macomb Strength, and even fought in an amateur MMA fight. He had numerous jobs throughout his short life but starting his own trucking company, Legacy Lines, was one of his greatest accomplishments. Brad, as he was known to most, was a bright light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, bravery, and humor. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Brad is survived by his overly-patient and accepting wife, Dana, who was the love of his life. His son, Landyn, who was his greatest pride and joy, and son, Lucas (Bella) who he loved like his own. Brad is also survived by his birth father, Doug Withey, his step-sister, Shauna (Jack) Sims, stepped-up Dad, Uncle Dana Waycaster, and stepped-in Mom, Aunt Gloria “2T” Day. Brad was the cherished grandson of Inez Waycaster and Nancy Withey. He also leaves behind his longtime friend Dale (Larissa) Hendra, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends who adored him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Waycaster, Uncles; Bill Day and Darryl Withey, Grandpas; Binnie Waycaster and Jesse Withey, Grandma, Liz Dingwell, cousin, Tim Reno and Landyn’s mom, Shawna Hilligus. Brad found joy in music and the open road. He was a talented guitar player, and loved performing live with his best friend Dale. His love for long and fast drives on his motorcycle reflected his adventurous and free spirit. Those who knew Brad will remember him for his wild imagination, his kind heartedness and contagious laughter, his sarcastic humor, his strength and unwavering commitment to his job, family and friends. He will forever be in our hearts and missed very much everyday. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18th, 2024, starting at 4:00 PM at Kautz Shore Lanes, 6840 Lakeshore Rd. Lexington, MI 48450. A short service will be held, followed by live music, food and drinks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the wishes of the family.
