Anna J. Betts

Anna June Betts, age 71 of Kimball Township, passed away Tuesday – January 2, 2025. She was born on June 5, 1953, in Port Huron to the late Charles and Marion Quant. After her parents passed Anna was raised by Fred and Ruby Drewyore. She married her soulmate, James C. Betts, on May 1, 1975 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2024 after 49 years of marriage. Their marriage was a testament to love, partnership and unwavering commitment. The secret to their successful marriage was to always say I love you to each other every night before they went to sleep. Anna retired from AT&T in 2011. Anna was a proud and devoted mother of three children and a doting grandmother to seven cherished grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She found immense joy in spending time with her family, whether it was gathering for holidays, cheering on their accomplishments or simply sharing laughter at a family barbeque. A lifelong advocate for helping others, Anna dedicated herself to serving her community. Her efforts enriched the lives of so many and set a shining example of what it means to live with purpose and kindness. Known for her zest for life, Anna embraced every moment with enthusiasm and gratitude. Anna enjoyed bowling, camping, anything purple and volunteering at the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She is survived by her son, David M. (Missy) Betts, daughters; Randeana L. (Tonya) Betts, Jamie (Dennis) M. Ferrier, seven grandchildren; Kayla K. McIntyre, Sydney A. Betts, Charley M. Betts, Armond K.T. Hicks, Dakota D. Ferrier, Tori L. Ferrier, and Landon J. Ferrier and a sister, Ruth Down. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles & Marion Quant and Fred & Ruby Drewyore, sister Cherie Drewyore Ross in 1981, and brother Frederick Drewyore in 2012. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday – January 7, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Jowett Funeral Home – 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron. Pastor Kirk J. Langset of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Casco will officiate. Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery. The pallbearers will be - Landon Ferrier, Armond Hicks, Mike Down, Christopher Down, Dillon Forrest and Ben Hyde. The visitation will be held on Monday – January 6, 2025 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Tuesday from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am, in the funeral home.
