Albert L. Schaller

Albert L. Schaller, age 84, of Lakeport passed away on May 12, 2021. He was born on February 21, 1937 in Detroit. He is the son of the late Justin and Eleanor Schaller. He married Marilyn E. Lang on June 15, 1963 in Detroit. Al was a faithful, passionate, generous, and dedicated man. He led a full and fruitful life making an impact on countless lives. He was deeply committed to his family and was devoted to Jesus. He was unwavering in prayer and the sacramental life. He chose to love his family and God with all of his heart and strength. He was a tireless worker in every aspect of his life and had a lifelong passion for boating, swimming, traveling, and reading. He loved telling stories of his eventful past to his grandkids or anyone who would listen. These passions filled his days with joy. Al was a fearless, dynamic, natural-born leader who could take command of any situation. He was a man of integrity and high intelligence. He was one of the founders of Schaller Corporation and held the position of president for 25 years. He was an active member of St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church, Legatus, Cardinal Club, Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, and numerous other boards and charitable organizations. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, his children Lawrence (Tracy), Steven (Michele), Richard (Lisa), Christine (Michael), nineteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his younger brother Roger, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, David Schaller, and his elder brother Justin C. Schaller. Visiting hours will be Monday, May 17 from 4pm to 8pm at Jowett Funeral Home, and Tuesday, May 18 from 10am to 11am at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church at 6945 Lakeshore Rd, Lakeport. Father Lee Acervo and Father Joseph Fox will officiate. Al's grandsons have the honor to be his pallbearers. Memorial tributes can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
